There are various restorative material for treatment of dental decay. At Eastlake Dentistry various fillings are provided to our patients. The most conventional filling is “dental amalgam” filling. This material usually lasts about 5 to 7 years and is the most common material used in correction of dental decay.

The second common filling material is gold allow. This filling material has the advantage of being more durable and usually lasts 10 to 12 years.  In some patients who properly take care of their hygiene, these fillings have been shown to last longer.

The final material use is a “tooth color” filling. This material is either composite or porcelain. The location of the filling and the forces of mastication will determine what tooth color filling will be used. The composite material may be laboratory processed to get greater strength. At Eastlake Dentistry we provide all the various types of treatments and adapt to your specific situation.
